children
Life and the world around us can be confusing, stressful, and even overwhelming sometimes, and it is no different for a child. You may or may not know why your child is having a hard time, but you know something is amiss. Children have the same emotions as adults, but they usually don't yet know how to talk about difficult feelings or communicate their need for help. Feelings such as fear, anger or sadness are often expressed instead through challenging behaviors. Or maybe your child is neuro-diverse and having a hard time navigating a neuro-normative world. Therapy can help your child uncover and safely work through feelings such as sadness, anger, fear, frustration, anxiety, trauma, or grief. It can also help your child learn new skills to effectively navigate their way through an increasingly complex world. Best of all, therapy can help your child learn to know and accept themselves fully, and develop and strong sense of confidence and self-esteem.
I work with the child, the caregivers, and the whole family if appropriate, to promote long lasting change and to help children and caregivers develop a tool kit to deal with a wide variety of issues so that they are well equipped to manage any challenging situations in the future.
